Our Dentist
Dr. Steven (Hao Yu) Wey
BOHDSc, MDent, PostGradDip (Ortho)
Dr Wey graduated from Griffith University with Honours, and has undertaken further training at City of London College and the Australasian Restorative & Implant Academy (ARIA). He brings a wealth of expertise, with special interests in the fields of Airway Orthodontics, Dental Implants and Full Mouth Restorations.
Having worked in established practices throughout Queensland, Dr Wey has honed his skills across a variety of dental disciplines, particularly in the use of digital dentistry. His attention to detail and proficiency in 3D technologies allow him to deliver highly precise and reliable results.
Born in Taiwan and raised on the Gold Coast, Dr Wey is dedicated to serving his community and building genuine connections with his patients. Known for his friendly and thoughtful nature, Dr Wey’s priority is to ensure a comfortable and positive experience at every visit.
Our Heritage
As the first dental clinic in Hope Island, we’ve been proudly serving the local community for over two decades. Founded in 2003 by Dr Philip Jacobs, Hope Island Dental Care has established a long-standing reputation for personalised care and exceptional service.
In 2024, Dr Jacobs retired from dentistry and handed over ownership of the practice to Dr Steven Wey. In this new chapter, our dedication to excellence remains unchanged. We aim to build upon Dr Jacobs’ legacy and expand the scope of our services to provide a range of technology-led treatment modalities under the one roof.
